12Internet Marketing- Low-Tech Marketing Adds to High-Tech Sales
Filed in: Internet Marketing by admin on 11-12-09Sometimes, the best marketing for your online business may be done off-line.
It’s been said numerous times, but it still bears repeating: It doesn’t matter how wonderful your product or service is if no one visits your website to learn about it. Don’t abandon e-mail marketing, SEO and other online tactics, but also be sure to include an offline component as well. The possibilities are almost limitless.
* Use traditional advertising. Print and broadcast advertising, as well as direct mail, still have their place in a cyber world. Be targeted in your media buy, and always include your web address.
* Wear out your URL. Always include it on your business cards, letterhead and other printed materials.
* Mention it by phone. When you record an answering machine message for your business, remind callers that 24/7 access is available online.
* Use free publicity. If you market in your own community, tack a business card or flyer on the bulletin board at Starbucks or the grocery store.
* Offer premiums. Thank your customers for their business by sending them a mug or mouse pad with your URL tastefully featured. Everyone who walks into their business will be a virtual customer.
* Go viral. Teenagers – and even a few adults – will become walking billboards for your company if you give them a T-shirt with your web address on it.
You get the idea. Look around at what people are doing, where they are going and what you are wearing. Chances are you can find a creative new way to get your name in front of potential customers.
